The Spain Fusion Immersive Food & Wine Experience arrives in Houston on Monday, May 15th at the C. Baldwin Hotel, located at 400 Dallas in downtown Houston. The free event, presented by Vocento Gastronomía, is intended for individuals in the food and beverage and hospitality industries with a goal of raising awareness for Spanish food and wine through an “immersive food and wine experience”.
Vocento is also known for its Madrid Fusion events, which serve a similar purpose of bringing Madrid’s dining culture into the spotlight. The Spain Fusion Immersive Food & Wine Experience will showcase plenty of food, including cheese, Jamón Ibérico, olives and olive oil, conserva, sherry vinegar and more from a number of exporters and suppliers.
Spain is home to a plethora of foods and wines with EU label schemes of denominación de origen (DO) or protected geographical indication (PGI), which are both used to verify and indicate the production methods, unique terroir and geographical origin in order to preserve their heritage. The event is a can’t-miss opportunity for Houston hospitality professionals who are interested in these culinary treasures, and will include master classes from instructors such as chef Varin Keokitvon of the Seattle Culinary Academy, who will lead attendees through a guided tasting of Jamón 100% Ibérico de Bellota Dehesa Cordobesa.

The Spain Fusion event will be split into day and night sessions and have a number of educational classes and panels throughout the first half of day (noon to 6 p.m.) from top producers and chefs, including chef Dani Lledó of Washington D.C. Michelin star restaurant Xiquet by Danny Lledó, chef/owner Mat Shuster of Canela Bistro & Wine Bar in San Francisco, chef Periko Ortega of Michelin star restaurant ReComiendo in Córdoba, Spain, and Fernando Mora, the first Aragonese Master of Wine. The second session, from 7 until 10 p.m. , will be more of a networking session with walkaround tastings and meet-and-greets with food and wine experts.
If you know of anyone in the food and beverage of hospitality industries who would be interested or would like to attend yourself, share this link or click to send an RSVP email.
