Wednesday List: Open Restaurants & Grocery Stores In The Houston Area
This list will be regularly updated on Wednesday, August 30 until 7 p.m. Please bear with us as we are continuing to add places to this list!
After Hurricane Harvey, the water is draining off but many major roadways and neighborhoods are still flooded. In addition, last night mayor Sylvester Turner implemented a curfew from midnight to 5 a.m. So, it’s fair to say that things aren’t normal for Houston yet. Another day; another list of the grocery stores, restaurants and bars that have managed to open in the aftermath.
One major thing that we’re watching for is if we hear about more places open than closed, grocery stores that are returning to normal hours and if restaurants stop running out of food early. Once that happens, we’ll discontinue our daily “what’s open” list.
Be aware that due to the curfew, many businesses will close earlier than normal.
Here are the grocery stores and restaurants that are open for Wednesday, August 30.
GROCERY STORES
Fiesta: The company has a list of open stores posted on their website, but do be aware that hours may be shorter than usual.
H-E-B: The Texas-based grocery chain has not yet announced which Houston-area stores are opening today. It did, however, announce that their retail support center is reopening. That’s very good news, because it means the supply chain is being restored. Keep an eye on the Facebook post below for store openings. In general, over the past few days the locations able to open have operated from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We hope to see longer hours than that today, but it’s a wait-and-see game.
