Chefs Kaiser Lashkari and Austin Simmons CollaborEIGHT at Tris in The Woodlands

This Sunday, September 22, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Tris in The Woodlands, Kaiser Lashkari, chef-owner of Himalaya Restaurant and 2019 James Beard Semifinalist for Best Chef Southwest, will join Tris’s Austin Simmons for the next dinner in the CollaborEIGHT series. At these semi-regular events, Simmons and another well-known chef have joined forces to cook multi-course meals, giving both an opportunity to showcase their talents to diners from The Woodlands and beyond.

For Sunday’s dinner, Lashkari and Simmons have been working together planning and preparing an eight course dinner that will be paired with wine and beer. Lashkari is known for his unique spin on Indian and Pakistani cuisines, which has earned Himalaya many accolades over the past 15 years. The menu for Sunday’s dinner has not yet been released, but, based on past meals and the culinary skills of both chefs, guests should be in for a unique gastronomic experience.

The CollaborEIGHT concept expands on Cureight, Tris’s successful tasting menu dinners, which they offer Thursday through Saturday. Located in the private dining area of the restaurant, guests are treated to an eight course dinner prepared in front of them by Simmons and his team.

“We’ve had an overwhelming response from both guests and culinary talent for our CollaborEIGHT dinner series,” said Simmons. “It’s a privilege to share a kitchen with amazing talent to present these one-of-a-kind culinary experiences.”

Past dinners have featured Chef John Tesar, Chef Dominick Lee from Poitín and CorkScrew pitmaster Will Buckman. Three more collaborations are planned for this year. They will feature 2017 James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef Southwest Hugo Ortega, winemaker Ryan Hill and Top Chef-finalist Kevin D’Andréa of La Villa.

Sunday’s dinner, which will be at Tris located at 24 Waterway Avenue in The Woodlands, is $225 (all inclusive) and limited tickets remain. For more information on the CollaborEIGHT dinner series or to purchase tickets visit triswoodlands.com.
