Treebeards has served downtown patrons every weekday since 1978 with comforting, affordable Cajun dishes such as gumbo, étouffée and red beans and rice. Now, 30 years later, the downtown location at 315 Travis in the heart of Market Square has — for the first time — expanded its hours to include lunchtime on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
That means guests can now start their weekends with fresh boiled crawfish served with corn and new potatoes, crispy fried chicken, spicy gumbo, or red beans and rice. Treebeard’s also has a full cocktail menu and an extensive selection of cold beers.
As Houston’s downtown continues to expand and offer more events, the new Saturday hours give hungry Houstonians with much-needed sustenance for their weekend activities.
