Top-Rated Pizza Joint Is Coming To Downtown Houston’s Tunnels
Downtown workers in or near 919 Milam (formerly known as the Bank One building) will have a new lunch option soon in the tunnels. Hot Toppings Pizza announced they are opening their second location there, hopefully by February 2017. It comes just a year after their original location opened its doors at 7705 Westheimer near the Galleria.
Notably, Hot Toppings attracted the attention of national online publication BuzzFeed for its remarkably high Yelp rating. It currently sports five-stars even after 277 consumer reviews. When BuzzFeed looked for the highest Yelp-rated pizza joint in every state, Hot Toppings was discovered to be the top of the heap in Texas.
It’s a “build your own pizza” place along the same lines as others that have cropped up in recent years, such as Mod Pizza, Blaze Pizza and Your Pie. There’s one big difference, though: Hot Toppings is locally-owned by restaurateur Dave Petty.
Diners simply ask for what they want and the pizzas are put together in efficient, assembly-line style fashion. It’s quick process—most pizzas are toasty hot and ready to serve after only three minutes in the oven. It’s an obvious good fit for workers who need to get lunch in a hurry.
Operating hours for the downtown location will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
