Thursday List: Open Restaurants & Grocery Stores In The Houston Area

This list will be regularly updated on Thursday, August 30 until 7 p.m. Please bear with us as we are continuing to add places to this list!

After Hurricane Harvey, the water continues to recede, though major roadways and neighborhoods are still flooded. The return of the sun brings relief to many ready for a break in the rain and a small bit of normalcy. One good bit of news: This will be the last update on open restaurants and grocery stores, as the majority have reopened in some capacity. Some may maintain limited hours for a while as they restock.

Here are the grocery stores and restaurants that are open for Thursday, August 30.

GROCERY STORES

Fiesta: The company has a list of open stores posted on their website, but notes that “product availability is limited,” and “essentials are being resupplied.”

H-E-B: The Texas-based grocery chain announced this morning which Houston-area stores are opening today, with hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Keep an eye on the Facebook post below for specific store openings.

RESTAURANTS

Bellaire

The Ivy and James, 4400 Bellaire Boulevard: Open at noon today, and according to the Facebook page, “Over the next few days we will open at 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Supplies are limited and deliveries have not restarted, but we will try to make you happy when you stop by.”

Jax Grill, 6510 South Rice Boulevard: Opened yesterday and open today for regular hours, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Molina’s Cantina, 3801 Bellaire: Back up and open for business as usual, from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Saltillo Mexican Kitchen, 5427 Bissonnet, Suite 200: Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will offer a free basic meal to anyone that had to evacuate their home.

Bunker Hill

BuffBurger, 1014 Wirt: Co-0wner Sara Burden says they are “back in business with fresh buns.” Opens at 11 a.m.

Downtown

Artisans, 3201 Louisiana: Open from 5 to 10 p.m.

Brasserie du Parc, 1440 Lamar: Open today for lunch and dinner.

The Pearl Restaurant and Bar, 1117 Prairie: The restaurant is open until 10 p.m., and the bar will stay open until 10:30 p.m.

Xochi, 1777 Walker: Opening at noon. Serving a limited menu and will have special cocktails with proceeds going to Harvey relief. People are also welcome to drop off items for donation to local shelters.

Your Pie, 1625 Main Street, Suite B: Open for normal business hours today, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

EaDo/East Side

Andes Cafe, 2311 Canal: Open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today. First responders get a free sandwich.

Cafe TH, 2108 Pease: Open today from noon until 6 p.m. The restaurant will also be open on Labor Day, most likely the usual schedule, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Galleria

Amalfi Ristorante Italiano, 6100 Westheimer: A representative from the restaurant e-mailed to say that it is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for lunch and dinner.

Caracol, 2200 Post Oak: Chef Hugo Ortega’s coastal Mexican restaurant is serving a limited menu and will have special cocktails with proceeds going to Harvey relief. People are also welcome to drop off items for donation to local shelters.

Chama Gaucha, 5865 Westheimer: Open and donating 10% of all sales from now until Saturday, September 9th to Sylvester Turner, Mayor of Houston’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, which is housed at the Greater Houston Community Foundation. Also offering Houston Restaurant Weeks menus benefiting the Houston Food Bank from now until Monday, Sept. 4th.

Christie’s Seafood Restaurant, 6029 Westheimer: Open today from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Maria Christie says, “We will remain open every day unless another rain comes through.”

Ciao Bello, 5161 San Felipe: The planned hours are 4 to 9:30 p.m.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, 5061 Westheimer, Suite 8060: Plan to re-open for dinner at 4 p.m.

Dish Society, 5740 San Felipe St #100: Open normal hours, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the Facebook page.

Etoile Cuisine et Bar, 1101-11 Uptown Park Boulevard: Open today for lunch and dinner.

Kenny & Ziggy’s, 2327 Post Oak Blvd: Open today from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Kolache Shoppe, 3945 Richmond: Opened at 7 a.m., will close at noon.

Krisp Bird & Batter, 5922 Richmond: Open regular hours, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

La Table, 1800 Post Oak Blvd.: Opens at 11 a.m. Free meals for first responders and volunteers. Marche (downstairs) will be serving a limited a la carte menu from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Morton’s the Steakhouse, 5000 Westheimer, Suite 190: Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Steak 48, 4444 Westheimer, Suite A01: The restaurant plans to re-open this evening for dinner service from 5 to 10 p.m.

The Tasting Room, 1101 Uptown Park Boulevard: Open today from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The West End Pub, 5320 Westheimer: Opens today from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., and is giving free meals to first responders. The pub also serves as a drop off center for basic needs donations for HPD and HFD.

Greenway

burger-chan, 3 Greenway Plaza, Suite C220: Open for lunch today from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to the Facebook page, “For safety reasons, Parkway Management will keep the building closed, but customers can simply press the buzzer by the entrance and say, “I’m going to burger-chan!” and they’ll let you in.”

Liberty Taco, 4703 Richmond: Open regular hours, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Ragin’ Cajun,  4302 Richmond: Open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Tony’s, 3755 Richmond: Tony’s will be open from 4 to 9:30 p.m.

Heights

Alice Blue, 250 West 19th: The restaurant announced on Facebook yesterday that it would be open from noon until 8 p.m. with a special Harvey menu.

Cane Rosso, 1835 North Shepherd: Open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Chilosos Taco House, 701 East 20th: Open regular business hours, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Coltivare, 3320 White Oak: Open with a “limited” menu at 11 a.m.

Good Dog, 903 Studewood: Open until 10 p.m., and collecting pet food donations. According to Facebook, “If you have any extra pet food or can pick up an extra bag while you are out please drop it off at either of our locations.”

Eight Row Flint, 1039 Yale: Open from 2 to 10 p.m.

Harold’s, 350 W 19th Street: Opens today at 11 a.m., serving a combo of lunch and dinner menu items upstairs until 3 p.m., as well as pizza and wings in the Tap Room until 8 p.m. First responders eat a free pork loin lunch.

Helen Greek Food & Wine, 1111 Studewood, Suite B: Open and serving most, if not all, menu items.

Jax Grill, 1613 Shepherd: Opened yesterday and open today for regular hours, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

King’s Bierhaus, 2044 East T.C. Jester: Open from 5 to 9 p.m. according to Facebook.

Lee’s Fried Chicken and Donuts, 601 Heights Boulevard: Open today with a limited menu, serving donuts, chicken tenders and fried chicken sandwiches.

Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar, 1050 Studewood: Open for dinner tonight from 5 to 9 p.m.

Max’s Wine Dive, 4720 Washington: Open today from 4 to 10 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Serving complimentary plates of Famous Southern Fried Chicken to first responders and service members.

Rainbow Lodge, 2011 Ella: Opens at 5 p.m. for a well-deserved happy hour and dinner.

Revival Market, 550 Heights: Open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sammy’s Wild Game Grill, 3715 Washington: Reopened yesterday, according to Facebook. Normal business hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sonoma Wine Bar, 801 Studewood: Open from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Urban Eats, 3414 Washington: Open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., or as long as food stocks allow.

Katy

Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, 21150 Katy Freeway: According to a representative from the restaurant, the Katy location is “open and ready to serve the Houston community with a limited menu.”

Dish Society, 23501 Cinco Ranch: Open regular hours, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to Facebook.

Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, 23501 Cinco Ranch Boulevard, Suite Q100: Re-opened yesterday at at 4 p.m. according to a restaurant representative. Note that “some locations may be working with less ingredients and require that a few selections be removed from the menu for a short period.”

Medical Center

Third Coast, 6550 Bertner: Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. New closing time is to fit with City of Houston mandatory curfew.

Memorial

The Brisket House, 5775 Woodway (and two other locations): All three locations of The Brisket House are open every day at 11 a.m. until, they run out of BBQ.

Jonathan’s The Rub, 9061 Gaylord: Open for dinner this evening at 6 p.m., open until 9:30 p.m.

KUU, 947 Gessner: Opened at 11 a.m. according to Facebook.

Sweet Paris, 797 Sorella: Reported their opening on Facebook. Open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen, 6401 Woodway: Open for lunch and dinner today starting at 11 a.m.

Vallone’s, 947 Gessner: Tony Vallone’s Memorial restaurant reopens today from 4 to 9:30 p.m.

Midtown

Cyclone Anaya’s Mexican Kitchen, 309 Gray: Open today from 11 a.m to 11 p.m.

Damian’s Cucina Italiana, 3011 Smith: Open for regular hours, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Fluff Bake Bar, 314 Gray: According to Facebook, Fluff Bake Bar will be open this week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., “with cookies, coffee and more.” Wifi is available and donations will be accepted for victims and first responders.

Holley’s Seafood Restaurant & Oyster Bar, 3201 Louisiana: Chef Mark Holley opened yesterday at 1 p.m. with a limited menu.

Ibiza, 2450 Louisiana: Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Luna e Sol, 2808 Milam: The planned hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Max’s Wine Dive, 214 Fairview: Open today from 4 to 10 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Serving complimentary plates of Famous Southern Fried Chicken to first responders and service members.

Natachee’s Supper ‘n Punch, 3622 Main: Open regular hours today 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. According to the Facebook page, “Tell your server, “Good Day Sunshine” for 10% off your check. Beetle Happy Hour at the Continental Club tonight.”

Weights + Measures, 2808 Caroline: Regular hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Montrose

AQUI, 520 Westheimer: Will open for business today at 5 p.m. AQUI will donate 100% of it’s profits for the next several days to the JJWATT foundation.

Baby Barnaby’s, 604 Fairview: Reported on Facebook that it will have regular hours today.

Boheme, 307 Fairview: Opened at noon yesterday. Closing “depends on the curfew.”

Cane Rosso, 4306 Yoakum: Open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Common Bond, 1706 Westheimer: Open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Good Dog, 1312 West Alabama: Open until 10 p.m., and collecting pet food donations. According to Facebook, “If you have any extra pet food or can pick up an extra bag while you are out please drop it off at either of our locations.

Hugo’s, 1600 Westheimer: Chef Hugo Ortega’s interior Mexican restaurant is serving a limited menu. Proceeds from special cocktails will go to Hurricane Harvey relief charities. People are also welcome to drop off items for donation to local shelters.

Pass & Provisions, 807 Taft: Opened yesterday with a limited menu in the bar area.

Paulie’s, 1834 Westheimer: Back to normal hours today, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Pax Americana, 4319 Montrose Blvd: Opened yesterday with adjusted hours—4 to 9 p.m.—so that staff can get home by midnight in time for the curfew.

Roost, 1972 Fairview: Open today at 5 p.m. Chef Kevin Naderi expects to serve the full menu.

Siphon Coffee, 701 Alabama: Open until 6 p.m and is also taking donations of toiletries, baby formula, diapers and pet food for local shelters.

The Pit Room, 1201 Richmond: Open until sold out.

Uchi, 904 Westheimer: opening with a limited menu tonight from 5 to 9 p.m.

Museum District

Danton’s Gulf Coast Seafood Kitchen, 4611 Montrose: Opened at 4 PM yesterday. Call for current hours.

Lucille’s, 5512 La Branch: Open according to a representative.

Pearland

Killen’s Barbecue, 3613 East Broadway, Pearland: Open until sold out and first responders eat free.

Killen’s Burgers, 2804 South Main, Pearland: Open until sold out and first responders eat free.

Killen’s Steakhouse, 6425 Broadway, Pearland: For the rest of the week, the Steakhouse will keep things casual, offering all-day happy hours through Saturday and regular dinner service in the dining room. They should have the full menu available this evening.

Rice Village/West University

D’Amico’s Italian Market Café, 5510 Morningside, Suite #140: Open for lunch and dinner today, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., dependent on supplies and staff.

Fajitas a Go-Go, 5404 Kirby: Opened yesterday for regular hours, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Helen Greek Food & Wine, 2429 Rice Boulevard: Open and serving most, if not all, menu items.

Prego, 2520 Amherst: Open until 8 p.m.

Raven Grill, 1916 Bissonnet: Opened at noon; closing time is to be determined.

Seaside Poke, 2118 Lamar St #101: The East Village poke shop will reopen today at noon for business and will provide complimentary poke bowls to first responders.

Under the Volcano, 2349 Bissonnet: According to Twitter, tonight will be steak night from 5 to 10 p.m.

River Oaks

Armando’s, 2630 Westheimer: Open tonight from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and according to Facebook, “will not have dancing” due to the curfew.

Backstreet Cafe, 1103 Shepherd: Main dining room and lounge only. Serving a limited menu and will have special cocktails with proceeds going to Harvey relief. People are also welcome to drop off items for donation to local shelters.

Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, 4310 Westheimer: Opened yesterday at 4 p.m. with a limited menu.

Kata Robata, 3600 Kirby: Full menu; first responders eat free. Also accepting donations to shelters.

Local Foods, 2555 Kirby: Opened their doors today with regular hours, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. In support of the Houstonians affected by Harvey, we’re donating 25% of our sales from today through Sunday to the American Red Cross.
