Texas taco chain Tacodeli opened its first Houston location in 2017 on Washington Avenue. Now, about seven years later, the Austin-based taquería has opened a second Houston restaurant at 1715 Post Oak in the Post Oak Plaza.

This is Tacodeli’s 13th location. The company was founded by chef Roberto Espinosa and Eric Wilkerson in 1999, and has expanded from Austin to Dallas, Plano and Houston. The Post Oak location has a spacious dining room that seats 52 and a 20-seat patio. The interior design features aesthetic inspirations from both Mexico City and Texas, with artwork from late Austin-based artist Cindy “Crash” Raschke. Raschke previously created a space-themed painting for the Washington location, which is also displayed at the new Post Oak spot.

The new Galleria-area Tacodeli location will feature the same menu, which includes breakfast, lunch/dinner tacos and bowls. Tacodeli has a good amount of variety with several beef, chicken, pork, seafood and vegetarian options. Guests also have the option to build-your-own breakfast tacos with fillings that include chorizo, picadillo and barbacoa, alongside a few vegetable options, like baby portabella mushrooms and poblano-onion rajas (roasted strips). In addition to the tacos, the restaurant also serves soup, salads and starters, such as chips and salsa and queso.

Tacodeli also serves a handful of alcoholic beverages, including margaritas (frozen or on the rocks), ranch waters and beer. There are plenty of non-alcoholic options like coffee and horchata.
