New Concept From The Breakfast Klub Is Headed To Downtown Houston
Eagle-eyed Houston Food Finder freelance writer Scott Sandlin spotted an exciting development in downtown Houston. A banner has appeared over the former R.K.G New Orleans Cajun Po-Boy spot at 648 Polk Street and it looks like it’s about to be a second location of The Breakfast Klub—or something like it.
We’ve contacted The Breakfast Klub’s marketing person and are awaiting details, but it’s likely that what’s coming is a smaller, more casual version of the original that will similarly offer only lunch and dinner service. That makes total sense, considering the block of restaurants, which includes Russo’s New York Pizzeria, Benihana and eclectic mainstay Bouray’s Burrito Bar & Vietnamese Restaurant, gets most of its customers from neighboring office buildings, including the three-building Allen Center complex and the Continental building.
Specifically, the banner says what’s coming is a “TBK Foods Concept,” which reinforces the idea that the new restaurant isn’t exactly another The Breakfast Klub, but certainly related.
This is not the only new business The Breakfast Klub’s owner Marcus Davis is working on. The Houston Chronicle reported in October that there’s also a new multi-concept restaurant in the works that is based on Davis’s existing Carribbean place, Reggae Hut, but will also offer breakfast. It will be located in the former Green’s BBQ building at 5404 Almeda. There’s also an airport location in the works at George Bush Intercontinental and Davis recently completed expanding The Breakfast Klub to the building behind it, which is now called the Signature Kafe.
