Houston, We Have a Podcast!

Houston Restaurant News Today podcast guests

About six weeks ago, Houston Food Finder quietly rolled out a new podcast. (Those who follow us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter probably caught a few of the early episodes.) Called Houston Restaurant News Today, it’s hosted and produced by editor and publisher Phaedra Cook.

The recent guests are associate editor, food historian and Foodways Texas president David Leftwich and Rainbow Lodge beverage director and sommelier Marc Borel. The current episode features owner Alex Auyeung of Phat Eatery.

Ahead of the interviews, Cook covers a few current topics. For example, in the current episode, she discusses the collective, anxious wait for when restaurants will be able to open at 50% dining room occupancy — and when bars get to open at all— as well as a new development in the story that broke in Dallas about Hillstone Restaurant Group (which also owns Houston’s on Kirby Drive) forbidding its employees from wearing protective masks.

Houston Restaurant News Today is “a la minute” and best consumed fresh. It’s ideal to listen to each episode soon after they’re released since current issues are covered.
