High-Tech Mini-Golf, Dining & Drinks Arrive in Downtown Houston
Mini-golf fans who want to finesse their game, as well as enjoy an onsite restaurant, can now do so in downtown Houston. Puttshack has opened its first Texas location in The Highlight at Houston Center, located at 1200 McKinney. Brookfield Properties is the developer and operator.
Billed as an “upscale patented tech-driven mini golf experience” and Puttshack Houston offers four, nine-hole mini-golf courses in a lively atmosphere enhanced with the talents of local DJs.
“As the premier entertainment destination in the area, the newly reimagined Highlight at Houston Center is the perfect fit for Puttshack to be an anchor tenant and an interactive space for outings with family and friends, company gatherings, and experiential date nights for residents and visitors alike,” said Chris Rockwood, COO of Puttshack, via a press release.
Each Puttshack’s menu is unique to the area, and the new venue is opening with a dish that benefits the Houston Food Bank with $1 of every sale. Called the Texas Tailpipe, it’s a dish of spring rolls filled with green-chile pork, bacon fat tamales and fresco chile and Chihuahua cheeses. Avocado salsa and poblano cheese dipping sauce is served alongside. Another dish specific to Texas is the Chicken & Waffle Flatbread.
There are two bars, and one of the cocktails to be found is the Frozen Mango Tamarind Margarita. Puttshack Houston also serves beers from local breweries such as Saint Arnold Brewing Company, 11 Below Brewing and No Label Brewing.
Interested parties can sign up for free games, such as on birthdays, on the website.
