Food and Drink Deals — and Brunches — for Black Friday Through Cyber Monday in Houston

This year, Black Friday might look a lot less like a midnight stampede at a big box store and more like lazy, in-bed cybershopping. Whichever turns out to be true, Black Friday shoppers still need sustenance. Here are some options.

East End

8th Wonder Brewery + Distillery, 2202 Dallas: The popular spot for local beers and spirits just debuted some super-cute beer glasses with an “ugly sweater” motif. A set of four is normally $25, but if you buy a pint in the taproom for Black Friday weekend, get $5 off. In addition, packaged beer, bottled spirits and branded merchandise is 20% off through Cyber Monday, November 20. (Check out the new patterned, chambray button-down shirt.) Gulf Coast Distillery, 5610 Clinton: From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 27, diners can get 25% off food and merchandise, making this a terrific shop-and-snack option. There’s a great collection of items that not only showcase Texas brewing and distilling pride, but accessories such as giant tasting glasses for those who want to bring a tasting room experience home.

Galleria

The Oceanaire, 5061 Westheimer: Relax over an icy, refreshing platter of oysters. On Black Friday, the chef’s selection is half-priced from open to close.

Heights

Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, 1051 Heights: Beginning on Black Friday, diners can enjoy free delivery via the Ike’s app all weekend long. The extensive sandwich menu features options such as the Michael Jordan with all-beef meatballs, marinara sauce and pepper jack cheese, the Reading Rainbow made with avocado, Ike’s red pesto sauce and cheddar cheese, and the Damon Bruce with steak, onion rings, steak sauce and provolone.

Humble

Chez Nous, 217 South Avenue G, Humble: There’s a special “Feel Good Friday” menu available on November 27. The pre-fixe dinners includes Caesar salad with aged Parmesan and homemade croutons, Black Pepper-Dusted Teres Major Steak with cognac cream sauce and vegetables, and  flourless chocolate cake with Jack Daniels ice cream. Bonus: the menu is gluten-free. The cost is $40 per person, and the meal is available for curbside pickup. Call (281) 446-6717 to order.

Lazybrook/Timbergrove

DR Delicacy, 4120 Directors Row: This killer sale, which runs from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, is a dream for cooks, home entertainers or even those simply looking for gift-worthy ingredients. Get 50% off several products, including holiday-worthy appetizers such as ready-made, Mediterranean-style mini quiches (only $3.79 for a dozen), Mozzarella-Filled Corn Arepas ($7.21 for six) and, for dessert, mini-churros ($13.91 for 32). Save time on appetizers and pastries with 10-packs of empanada dough ($1.83) and tarte flambée crusts ($10.60). There are also top-quality frozen veggies along with other great options, such as artisan oils and vinegars, for cooks to use in holiday dishes or to give away to favorite foodie friends. Memorial

The Tasting Room, 818 Town and Country: This CityCentre wine bar’s huge patio makes it a great place to take a pause from holiday shopping, while sipping wine and enjoying menu items such as truffle mac n’ cheese, wild mushroom pizza or baked goat cheese with candied pecans and figs. Ask about Black Friday specials on bottles of wine, for enjoying at the restaurant or to give as gifts.

Rice Military/Washington Avenue

FM Kitchen and Bar, 1112 Shepherd: Brunch is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, November 27, with options such as Wings N’ Waffles, chicken fried steak and eggs, and biscuits and gravy, and fruit parfait, along with a host of tacos. The full menu is here and items are available for curbside pickup.

Spring

SwitcHouse Plates & Pours, 1200 Lake Plaza: The rustically luxurious restaurant inside the AAA four diamond-rated Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwoods Village is offering 20% off all food and non-alcoholic beverages all day on Black Friday.

Upper Kirby

a’Bouzy, 2300 Westheimer: Enjoy Black Friday brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on this Westheimer wine bar’s expansive patio. The menu includes options such as biscuits, gravy and eggs, white chocolate French toast and shrimp and grits. To make a reservation call (713) 722-6899. Items (including bottles of wine) are also available to-go. 

Multiple Locations

The Creek Group: Cactus Creek, Canyon Creek Cafe, Cedar Creek Bar and Grill, and Onion Creek Coffee House are all offering Black Friday Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Selections such as Creole Benedict, featuring shaved ham and Creole shrimp along with poached eggs on an English muffin, avocado toast, omelets, burgers and more are all available to go.

Dish Society: These farm-to-table diners are serving a special brunch on Black Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Those who are not dining in yet may instead want to consider the family-style traditional breakfast, available for pickup or delivery. For $30, it includes scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and toast with seasonal jam and butter. There’s also a pack of 10 bacon and egg breakfast tacos. Each is designed to serve three adults or two adults and two children. Visit the website to order online.

Local Foods: Starting on Black Friday, this restaurant is selling its new monthly membership program. For $120 a month, guests can visit the restaurant as many times as they’d like and select from a sandwich with side, entrée salad, or the daily special. The Local Foods Monthly Membership can be purchased online or at any location. The first 100 people who sign up can grab it for $99 a month.

Molina’s Cantina: Margaritas are welcome any holiday of the year, especially when the cost is only $6.50. That’s the case all day on Black Friday at the three Molina’s locations on Bellaire, Westheimer and in Fulshear.

Peli Peli South African Kitchen, 5085 Westheimer and 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive: Both the Woodlands and Galleria locations are giving away a bonus $20 gift card for every $100 gift card purchased. Go online to buy. With a family-focused menu and entrées that are no more than $33, $120 goes even farther now than it did before.
