The Houston Astros have won their very first World Series and that means it’s time to party! Houston bars and restaurants are ready for the revelry with many themed specials, discounting everything from local beer to gift cards. Some deals are only for the celebration parade on Friday, November 2. Others last for a week. We’ll keep updating this list as new deals keep rolling in.
Brennan’s of Houston, 3300 Smith: The elegant (but fun) Creole restaurant is celebrating the Astros win with a special $7-per-item menu and drink specials (available only at the bar). Featured dishes are upscale renditions of game-day favorites, such as Corn Dogs with Berkshire Pork Belly and Pickled Okra Cole Slaw with BBQ Mustard Glaze. Brennan’s of Houston is also making it super-easy for guests to attend the parade. Shuttles for all patrons will run to and from the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Cajun Stop, 2130 Jefferson: From this year forward, every November 3 the popular Cajun joint plans to feature Astros Day specials. Tomorrow, these include $2 daiquiris, half-priced appetizers and half-off po’ boys. These deals are only available at the downtown Cajun Stop.
Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, 705 Main: The pub’s extensive beer selection makes it a favored hangout after downtown-area events—and Friday after the parade will not likely be an exception. Saint Arnold Brewing Company’s Pub Crawl Pale Ale and 8th Wonder Brewery’s Astroturf are on special for $4 each.
Weights + Measures, 2808 Caroline : On Friday, November 3, the midtown eatery features happy hour from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Specials include $10 pizzas and cheeseburgers as well as half-off cocktails, by-the-glass wines and draft beers. It’s a good time to try the new fall cocktail menu, which can be viewed online.
FM Kitchen & Bar, 1112 Shepherd: If you ARE a Houston Astro, FM Kitchen & Bar will treat you to free burgers for as long as you (or the restaurant) exist. If you’re not actually on the team, visit Thursday, November 2 or Friday, November 3 for half-off all burgers. There’s also a $5 hot dog and 8th Wonder Dome Faux’m beer combo. A World Series Championship party starts on Friday at 11 a.m. Free shuttle service to the parade is provided for patrons. Happy hour runs all day as well. Live music by Forever Miles and Alex Riddle starts at 8:30 p.m.
Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, 4310 Westheimer: The casual River Oaks restaurant has declared Friday, November 3 to be “Friday Funday.” It’s hosting a Astros World Series celebration and parade watch party starting at 11 a.m. Specials include $5 off all Texas draft beers, $8 “Orbit Juice” cocktails (a take on a classic Paloma), and $12 food specials, including Ballpark Burgers and brisket-topped nachos and hot dogs. A DJ will be on hand to liven up the festivities as well.
The Hay Merchant, 1100 Westheimer: The popular beer (and now cocktail) bar traditionally sells local beers for half-off when a Houston team is winning. That special has been expanded to be all day, every day through November 8.
Provisions, 807 Taft: The restaurant is walking distance from the celebratory parade on Friday, November 3. So, Provisions is not only having all-day happy hour at the bar, but also letting lunchtime patrons leave their cars in the parking lot so they can walk to the parade! The happy hour menu is online and there will also be $5 hot dogs from 11 a.m. until sold out.
Julep, 1919 Washington: When Julep opened in 2014, it was during the height of baseball season. So, a cocktail homage to baseball named Topps & Bottoms made its debut on the very first menu. It’s served with a small pouch of roasted sunflower seeds clipped to the glass and a Topps baseball card servers as a coaster. The Topps and Bottoms cocktail, made with sunflower seed infused Overproof Rum, Byrrh, and Pamplemousse Liqueur will be only $5 all weekend long.
Antone’s Famous Po’ Boys, various locations: Houston’s classic po’ boy shop and professional baseball share a birth year of 1962. For one day only—on Friday, November 3—Antone’s is bringing back its recent, wildly popular 55-cent Original po’ boy anniversary special. When the sandwich shop put on the special for a week in September, Houstonians lined up to get it. If you missed out before, now’s your chance. This time around, though, there’s a limit of one per customer—so your friends need to come with you this time.
Niko Niko’s (three locations): All locations of the classic, casual Greek restaurant is selling gyros at 55-percent off. (Limit four per person.) Boutari Wine is discounted for the same amount and the deal is running on Thursday, November 2. Gyros are limited to four per person and the discount doesn’t apply to online or phone-in orders.
Papa John’s, multiple locations: Order online and use promotional code ASTROS to get half-priced pizzas. The deal is good on Saturday, November 4 only.
