Where to Get Christmas Food To Go in Houston for 2022

There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of a chef-made, worry-free holiday meal enjoyed in the comfort of your own home. Give yourself an extra helping of holiday cheer this year by leaving the cooking to the pros. We’ve compiled our top picks for Christmas takeout from the Houston-area’s best restaurants and bars. These festive dishes will give your family a Christmas to remember.

B&B Butchers, 1814 Washington: If you’re craving a meal worthy of Christmas, look no further than B&B Butcher’s holiday take-out menu. Available from the B&B Butcher Shop through January 3, the holiday menu is sure to inspire some spontaneous caroling at your family gathering. Menu highlights include whole tenderloin beef Wellington ($425) with foie gras, wild mushroom duxelles and marsala; whole Berkshire smoked ham ($115); and pork crown roast ($85). Side options include whipped potatoes, B&B Mac & Cheese and classic creamed spinach. Orders should be placed with 48-hours’ notice through Sunday, January 1. B.B.’s Tex-Orleans, multiple locations: Cajun-style fried turkey isn’t just for Thanksgiving. Satisfy the poultry lovers in your household with a standard turkey injected with a B.B.’s secret-recipe marinade and rubbed with spices, or opt for one stuffed with boudin rice. Round out the meal with sides such as Sweet Potatoes with Coffee-Pecan Cream, red beans and rice and Creamed Spinach Madeline. End the festive meal with decadent desserts, including bread pudding and whole cheesecakes in Pecan Royale or key lime. Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, 4310 Westheimer: This River Oaks comfort kitchen is always a safe bet for Holiday to-go and dining. This year, the folks at Bosscat Kitchen & Libations have created a mouthwatering Christmas Eve takeout menu that includes a protein, five sides and dessert that feeds four or five for $195. This year’s protein options are dry-aged prime rib roast (add $25), brown sugar baked ham or Bourbon Cranberry Pork Loin. Side options include mac n’ cheese, scalloped potatoes and Maple Glazed Root Vegetables. For dessert, choose Eggnog Bread Pudding or pecan pie. À la carte items like Brown Sugar Baked Ham ($75), Winter Harvest Salad ($20), a batched Winter Old-Fashioned cocktail that serves four to five people and more are also available for takeout. Orders must be placed online and will be available for pickup on Christmas Eve.

Brennan’s of Houston, 3300 Smith: Add some Creole charm to your holiday table with an array of Southern sides, starters, sauces and desserts to compliment your main course. Menu highlights include turtle soup, JalapeñoCornbread Pudding, oyster dressing, Creole Bread Pudding, and whole lemon meringue or Southern pecan pies. Orders must be placed by Monday, December 19 for pick up on Friday, December 23. Order online.

Cyclone Anaya’s, multiple locations: Cyclone Anaya’s will be selling their signature Christmas Eve Tamales at all six Houston-area locations. These are pork tamales with a choice of tomatillo or chili gravy and are $14 for a half-dozen and $26 per dozen. All orders must be placed by phone from the location you intend to pick up from. Feges BBQ, 8217 Long Point: Let this Spring Branch barbecue joint handle the cooking — or should we say, the smoking — this Christmas. Order to go from a holiday menu featuring whole turkeys, brisket, smoked ham and prime rib, as well as Feges’ famous sides like Pimento Mac & Cheese, Korean Braised Greens and Sweet Potato & Banana Mashers ($40 for a 9” x 12” pan that serves 10 to 12). For dessert, try Rum Raisin Bread Pudding with caramel sauce ($40). Orders can be placed online. The deadline to place an order for Christmas is Monday, December 19.

Goode Co., multiple locations: This year, take the stress out of Christmas with the Merry Goode Meal, a full holiday meal that feeds 6 to 8 people for $230 plus tax. The meal includes a 2.5-pound smoked beef tenderloin with horseradish sauce; au gratin potatoes with crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar and green onions; creamed spinach; and housemade dinner rolls with sea salt honey butter. The Merry Goode Meal is also available with a whole turkey instead of beef tenderloin for $140 plus tax. À la carte items such as Bourbon Pecan Cinnamon Rolls ($25 per half dozen), pork tamales ($25 per dozen) and Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie ($22) are available as well. Pre-orders must be placed online by December 16 at 5 p.m. 

If you’re just looking to add some sweetness to your holiday gathering, consider stopping by one of Goode Company’s pie drive-thrus, where guests can drive-up and purchase pies with or without preordering. Options include the famous Goode Co. Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie or chocolate cream pie. The pie drive-thrus will be open December 22 and 23, 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Locations are listed online.

Harold’s Restaurant, 350 West 19th: Let Harold’s handle the cooking this Christmas with one of their to-go holiday meals or a la carte options. Meal choices include pork tenderloin ($179) with sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, pineapple chutney, a dozen Sheila Partin buns, and choice of cherry cobbler or chocolate mousse for dessert; or tamales ($139, two dozen assorted pork, chicken, and bean and cheese) with street corn, borracho beans, tomatillo sauce, and choice of strawberry tamales or tres leches for dessert. Both meals serve 7 to 10 people, and both the pork tenderloin and tamales are available as single-serving meals for $24.95 per person. Heights Bier Garten, 1433 North Shepherd and Wooster’s Garden, 3315 Milam: Spice up your holiday gathering this year with a bottle of aged eggnog to go from Heights Bier Garten or Wooster’s Garden. The 750-milliliter bottles (which is five, 5-ounce pours) are $40 each plus tax. Order by December 15 and pick up on December 20. The aged eggnog is made with dark rum, whiskey, cognac, whole milk, cream, Sugar In The Raw, spice blend, whole egg, vanilla bean and sea salt. Heights Bier Garten will also be selling tamales to go this holiday season. KP’s Kitchen, 8412 Katy Freeway: In the Memorial area and looking for an alternative to cooking this Christmas? Try a prime rib dinner from this local favorite. KP’s Kitchen is offering an à la carte holiday menu centered around its 3-pound prime rib for $150. Add à la carte sides such as cheese and charcuterie ($22), mashed potatoes ($20) and maple-glazed carrots ($20). Local Foods – Rice Village, 2424 Dunstan: This popular bistro and market is offering a special à la carte menu this holiday season. Menu highlights include Texas Brisket with horseradish chive cream ($28 per pound); smoked fish dip, trout roe and Everything Bagel Chips ($22); Dijon-Crusted Organic Salmon with dill and blood orange gremolata ($50); and Apple Sticky Toffee Pudding with coffee mascarpone ($38). Phat Eatery, 23119 Colonial Parkway: Introduce a little Malaysian spin to your holiday gathering with Phat Eatery’s to-go specials. The regular menu will be available for to-go orders, as well as two luxurious holiday entrées from December 16 through January 1. Wagyu Rendang Wellington ($39) is made with Rosewood Ranch wagyu banana shank and wrapped in duxelles, prosciutto, curry-brushed house roti and scored puff pastry. Lobster Mee ($32) is a decadent take on the popular street noodle soup that swaps prawns for a 5-ounce lobster tail and features water spinach, egg, rice noodles, cold-smoked egg and a mildly spicy and flavorful lobster tail broth. The Pit Room, 1201 Richmond: In the mood for a truly Texas Christmas? Consider a barbecue feast from Montrose’s favorite smokehouse. The Pit Room’s holiday to-go menu features smoked favorites like 48-hour brined whole turkeys ($85), whole brisket ($110, 5-6 pound average) and honey-glazed smoked ham ($60). Add a cherry or Sugar Cream Pie for $26. Orders must be submitted before December 17. Call (281) 888-1929 to place an order.

R-C Ranch, 2520 Airline: Take your Christmas dinner to the next level with R-C Ranch’s selection of fine meats and festive sides, available for nationwide shipping and local pickup at this butcher shop located in the Houston Farmers Market. Menu highlights include smoked ham ($124.95, 5-9 pounds), smoked Wagyu tenderloin ($145, 1.5-2 pounds), smoked Wagyu prime rib ($95, 2.5-3 pounds), Tallow Creamed Corn ($14.95, 1.5 quarts) and Roasted Garlic Tallow Mashed Potatoes ($12.95, 1.5 quarts). State Fare Kitchen & Bar, multiple locations: Take brunch home this Christmas with an At Home Brunch Kit that feeds four to six. For $60, you’ll get a half-dozen cathead biscuits, a pound of applewood smoked bacon, a pound of housemade sausage, a dozen fresh eggs, white country gravy, pancake mix, mixed berry jam, whipped butter and maple syrup. Make it a party with a beverage to-go kit, with choices that include frozen drinks and mimosa gallons. Kits are available December 17 through January 1st. Tacos A Go Go, multiple locations: Christmas season is tamale season in Texas and beyond. As usual, Houston’s own Tacos A Go Go is selling its signature, jumbo-sized tamales throughout the holiday season. Choose from spicy pork or vegan, both sold in packs of six. Pork ($15.99) are made with tender pork simmered in a tomatillo-serrano sauce. Vegan ($13.99) are made with black beans, corn, poblano and jalapeno peppers, spinach, onions, tomato and garlic. Available for delivery or in-store pickup.
