Ready or not, Thanksgiving 2022 is nearly upon us! Bring on the turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and, ahem, “spirited” dinner conversation. To help grease the wheels of hospitality, Houston restaurants are offering full spreads to-go, along with à la carte selections for starters, mains, sides, desserts and wines. There are even locations serving free Thanksgiving meals and turkeys. We wish you and yours a happy, healthy, safe and fulfilling holiday!
Houston Catering Concepts/New York Eatery, 5422 Bellaire: The catering component of New York Eatery offers full service assistance for holidays and gatherings of all sizes. There are three holiday packages that cost $15.95, $17.95 or $19.95 per person. They include roasted, fried or hickory smoked turkey, honey-baked ham and cornbread stuffing plus pies and sides that vary according to the package selected. View all menu options online.
There is also a Holiday Potluck menu of à la carte dishes that includes whole turkeys, hams and chickens, and half or full pan sides like grilled asparagus, roasted corn and macaroni and cheese. Pies are $24 each and available in pumpkin, pecan, apple or cherry, and there are cakes, cookies and more. Dario’s Steakhouse & Seafood, 14315 Cypress Rosehill: Choose dine-in or takeout from this family steakhouse known for traditional dishes and excellent service. The same three-course Thanksgiving menu is available for both options, and costs $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity. It’s available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving day.
First course includes a choice of five items such as lobster bisque or pear and apple salad. Main courses include five selections like Dario’s Filet topped with crabmeat and a malbec demi-glace, roasted turkey with all the trimmings and Norwegian grilled salmon with sautéed broccolini, mashed sweet potato and apricot sauce. Choose from desserts like pumpkin roulade, pecan pie and ginger crème brulée.
There are also two family meals available for pre-order through parent company Grupo Herrera. The Regular includes a 12-14 pound turkey that serves seven to nine people for $110, and The Large includes a 20-22 pound turkey that serves 11 to 14 people for $179. Marvino’s Italian Steakhouse, 24002 Northwest Freeway: Add an Italian vibe to your holiday table with a three-course dinner from this neighborhood destination. It is $62 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Starters include a choice of Akaushi meatball, pumpkin soup, fall salad and lobster spring roll. Next, choose from main courses like roasted turkey with classic sides, Marvino’s Filet served with a bacon-wrapped scallop, lamb shank with marsala wine sauce and butternut squash raviolis. J-BAR-M, 2201 Leeland: Pick up bulk orders of smoked meats, plus sides and sauces from this barbecue joint in EaDo. Caracol, 2200 Post Oak: This coastal Mexican cuisine restaurant from restaurateur Tracy Vaught and James Beard Award-winning chef Hugo Ortega is closed on Thanksgiving. However, there are plenty of great dishes available to make your home holiday special. The Couple’s Feast feeds two and includes sliced Pineapple & Habanero Spiral Ham, sliced oven-roasted turkey breast, coal-roasted sweet potatoes with condensed milk , jalapeño cornbread, charred Brussels sprouts, Sweet Cranberry & Spicy Jalapeño Relish, Tamal Azteca Tortilla Casserole and a choice of Pumpkin Meringue and Cajeta Pie, chocolate or vanilla tres leches or Pecan Chocolate Tart.

The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, 111 North Post Oak Lane: Delight yourself and your guests with an elegant dinner prepared by executive chef Neal Cox and team. Each meal serves four adults and comes packaged cold with simple heat-and-eat directions. The generous spread includes a 12- to 14-pound whole herb-roasted turkey, orange-cranberry sauce, sage turkey gravy, classic cornbread dressing, French green beans with caramelized shallots, Yukon Gold whipped potatoes, four Houstonian honey butter yeast rolls and a choice of one Pie Shoppe House-Made Pie in Texas pecan, pumpkin or chocolate ice box. Musaafer, 5115 Westheimer: Entice dinner guests with the warming spices of Indian cuisine via the Tandoori Turkey Tray. It costs $200 plus tax, and feeds six people. Ouisie’s Table, 3939 San Felipe: Get a Thanksgiving feast to go from one of Houston’s most iconic restaurants. This charming River Oaks bistro serves classic fare with Texas twists that make meals memorable and delicious. This year, choose from Garlic and Pepper-Crusted Beef Prime Rib and The Works that serves 15 to 20 and costs $375 to $420, a Honey-Glazed Ham that serves 20 to 25 for $160 to $250 or the new Bourbon-brined Turkey with Gravy that serves 10 to 15 and costs $160 to $250. There is turkey (sliced breast and dark meat), mashed potatoes, Italian green beans, cornbread stuffing, gravy, cranberry relish, pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread. There is a house-smoked holiday ham for $75 that feeds 6 to 10 (add optional ham glaze for $7.95), smoked andouille sausage pack for $11.95 and lots of sides that serve four. The latter include artichoke casserole, oyster cornbread stuffing, Southern roasted mirliton squash & herbs and Chicory Bread Pudding with caramel drizzle. Rainbow Lodge, 2011 Ella: Savor seasonal tastes from this iconic restaurant known for elevated wild game. Thanksgiving options include four-pound cuts of beef and bison tenderloin that cost $169 and $349, respectively, and whole four-pound venison loin for $259. Meats are served medium rare and it is suggested to order with one-half pound per person in mind. The dijon-rubbed Rack of Spring Lamb serves two and costs $79.
Whole turkeys are available cooked and served chilled or hot, with reheating instructions. They serve eight to 12 people, come with gluten-free giblet gravy and cost $130, with slicing upon request. Add extra gravy for $12 or cranberry sauce for $4. Snack Packs cost $6, and include enough of roasted turkey, cornbread dressing and gravy to make one late-night sandwich. Additional poultry options include whole Texas quail, duck breast and whole roasted duck.
There are seven sides that serve four people and cost $16 each. Selections include French green beans with shallots, wild mushroom risotto and roasted and glazed baby carrots. R-C Ranch Butcher Shop, 2520 Airline: Purchase meats and sides from this butcher shop that raises its own animals on a family ranch in Bailey’s Prairie, Texas. Smoked whole turkey with sweet tea brine is $119.95, city-brined ham with molasses and brown sugar glaze is $124.95 and brisket is $18.95 per pound available whole or flat.
Sides include mashed sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing made with tallow-smoked cornbread, cranberry sauce and turkey gravy.

Phat Eatery, 23119 Colonial Parkway: Choose from two to-go options exclusively for Thanksgiving, with flavor profiles to suit both the adventurous diner and the purist. The Malaysian Thanksgiving Feast feeds six or more people and costs $268. It includes an approximately four-pound honey-glazed turkey breast, Wagyu Beef Rendang Wellington, six Roti Curry Chicken Enchiladas, two quarts of Award-Winning Lobster Bisque, one quart of Creamy Whipped Potatoes and one pint each of turkey gravy and Ginger Japanese Sake Cranberry Sauce. Each bulk selection is available in a range of sizes depending on the number of servings needed, but most are available as small (four to six servings) and large (eight to 10 servings). Weights + Measures, 2808 Caroline: Each feast from this Midtown kitchen with in-house bakery serves four to six and is available with a vegan/gluten-free option. The Turkey Feast is $150, and includes a slow roasted turkey breast basted with rosemary-lemon butter, dressing, mashed potatoes, garlic green beans, sweet potato casserole, dill carrots, cranberry-orange sauce and gravy. The Vegan/Gluten Free Feast is $120, and comes with “Beyond Meat” Non Meatloaf with smoky tomato glaze, cauliflower dressing, mashed potatoes, garlic green beans, stuffed sweet potatoes, Dilly Carrots, cranberry-orange sauce and gravy.

The Pit Room, 1201 Richmond: Some may argue that meat and dessert are the best parts of any holiday meal. If this includes you, then this Montrose barbecue spot has you covered. Choose from whole turkey that gets a 48-hour brine in brown sugar, sage and apples; seasoned with house rub and then smoked for $85; whole brisket for $110 that includes one quart of barbecue sauce; or honey glazed smoked ham for $60. Choose original or Cajun turkey that each come with a dozen dinner rolls, cranberry sauce and choice of two sides like dressing and gravy or sweet yams. Order a smorgasbord of specialties from this acclaimed restaurant owned by husband and wife team Patrick Feges and Erin Smith. Most meats are available chilled and vacuum-packed with reheating instructions included, but there are a few ready-to-eat options, too. The former include five selections such as whole turkey breast for $60, whole brisket for $150 and whole rack of pork ribs for $45. Make life extra easy with hot turkeys that cost between $135 and $150 depending on the size, or a spiral-cut, bone-in, rum-glazed smoked ham that is $150. The Thanksgiving menu from chef Beto Gutierrez is available November 17 through 24 and costs $155. All meals come with 12 pieces of award-winning Jalapeño-Marinated Fried Chicken and Gravy, Southern style biscuits and cranberry jalapeño jam. Choose from two sides that include sweet or regular mashed potatoes, braised collard greens, jalapeño cheese grits and Truffle MAX n Cheese. Choose one of four “Nuts & Bolts” dishes such as oven roasted turkey breast with saged stuffing, port wine cranberry relish and turkey gravy, or House-Smoked & Braised Beef Short Ribs with red wine demi and creamy gouda grits. City Wide Club 44th Annual Thanksgiving Day Super Feast, 1001 Avenida De Las Americas: This multi-event dining day on November 24 includes free hot meals for dine-in or to-go, free toys, free haircuts, free clothes, bikes and more. Families can also pick up baskets containing 60 to 80 pounds of food intended to feed a family of five to six people for up to seven days. There is also access to information about affordable housing, educational and employment opportunities. It is held at the George R. Brown Convention Center November 24. Monkey’s Tail, 5802 Fulton: This hip restaurant and bar puts the giving into Thanksgiving with its annual free holiday boxed meal giveaway. Locals can stop by from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning for one of 500 free individual boxes, available through a sponsorship with Sysco, Amigos Meats, IKON Environmental Solutions and Monkey’s Tail. Each box includes fried dark and white meat turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted brussels and sweet potato hash, green bean casserole, cornbread stuffing, dinner roll, chocolate chip cookie, turkey gravy and cranberry sauce. It is served cold with reheating instructions and available pon a first-come, first-served basis.
Enjoy holiday vibes all month with tamales on the regular menu. Choose red chile pork or green chile chicken, served with salsa verde and roja. They cost $9 for six and $16 for 12, and are available nightly until 1:15 a.m.
Operation Turkey: This volunteer organization is providing free Thanksgiving meals at four Houston area locations on Thanksgiving Day.
