The Cartoon Review: Russian General Store in Southwest Houston
After the success of his cartoon review of Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, our favorite cartoonist and food lover is back! This time, Christopher Tupa and his family went on a new adventure to Russian General Store at 9629 Hillcroft, near the Meyerland and Bellaire neighborhoods. Even though not everything they tried was a home run, it clearly was still a great experience.
We’re hoping to receive more of Tupa’s visualizations of his family’s Greater Houston-area visits. You can help keep his Cartoon Reviews coming by supporting Houston Food Finder via Patreon or contribute to Tupa’s work directly through the links at his online shop, Amazon author page or his blog.
Phaedra Cook has written about Houston’s restaurant and bar scene since 2010. She was a regular contributor to My Table magazine (now closed) and was the lead restaurant critic for the Houston Press for two years, eventually being promoted to food editor. Cook founded Houston Food Finder in November 2016 and has been its editor and publisher ever since.
I live in Kansas and visit the store every time I’m in Houston. I love this place!
That’s quite a compliment to the store! Thanks for the comment!
