Since 2019, Latin Restaurant Weeks has been celebrating the vibrant flavors and traditions of Latin America, bringing together top chefs, restaurants and food enthusiasts for a delicious celebration of culture and community. In the years since its inception, it has grown to include New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Washington, D.C. as participating cities. The event returns to the Greater Houston area from Friday, July 11 to Friday, July 25 in partnership with the Feed the Soul Foundation and includes specials at restaurants all over town.
“Our mission is to make Latin and Hispanic culinary businesses visible, viable and celebrated,” said Karinn Chavarria-Luckett, co-founder of Latin Restaurant Weeks. “In a city like Houston, where Latin culture is woven into the fabric of everyday life, it’s powerful to see these chefs, restaurateurs, and entrepreneurs get the spotlight they deserve. We’re not just showcasing food — we’re uplifting legacies, stories and dreams.”
This year’s lineup includes a diverse mix of local, Latin-and-Hispanic-owned restaurants, cocktail bars, coffee shops, bakeries and food trucks representing the cuisine of Central and South America and the Caribbean. “Latin Restaurant Weeks brings new energy into our dining room every year,” said El Meson chef-owner Pedro Angel Garcia via a press release. “It’s not just about the food — it’s about being seen, valued and celebrated. Being part of this movement reminds us that what we do matters, that our heritage has a place at the table. It’s a beautiful thing to see the community show up for Latin culture with such heart.”
As we savor the flavors of Latin America, let’s also celebrate the spirit of community and support that makes events like Latin Restaurant Weeks possible.
