Burger Watch: Make a Pit Stop for a Great Burger in Porter, Texas

Boosted Burger in Porter

Round up your crew and cruise over to Boosted Burger, located at 24141 US-59 in Porter. This Latino-owned, car and truck culture-themed eatery serves oversized burgers, wings and loaded hot dogs in a friendly counter-service setting, with plenty of seating on the covered patio.

Large portions are prepared to order, with signature toppings that take inspiration from taco truck-style creations while delivering the familiar flavor of a classic American diner burger.

The Classic OBS burger is stacked with deli ham, avocado and melted asadero cheese, hallmarks of Mexican-style burgers, along with crisp lettuce, thinly sliced tomato, rough-cut red onion, crunchy pickles, mayo, ketchup and mustard on a toasted cemita-like bun.

The flavor is all about contrast. The beef carries a distinct smoky char with hints of caramelized fat, while the vegetables and condiments add just enough tang and sweetness to keep every bite balanced. The patty is smashed on the flat top, but not quite to the level of a smash burger. It gives you the best of both worlds — and they employ my mantra that big burgers should be wider, not taller!

Other popular options include the classic American Muscle cheeseburger, the towering and fully loaded GT 500, and The Hellcat, topped with cheddar, bacon and the restaurant’s signature Full Throttle Sauce

Burger prices range from $11.95 to $16.63, and yes, that higher price gets you a seriously massive burger. Every burger comes with seasoned fries.

One thing worth noting: there’s no tip line on the credit card receipts. I was told gratuity is built into the pricing, though cash tips are still appreciated.
