Happy hour and Girls Night are a perfect match at State Fare Kitchen & Bar at 947 Gessner. Specials run Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. and include a variety of modern spins on classic American and Gulf Coast favorites. Cocktails or wines by the glass are $6 each, draft beers are $5 and snacks are $6. Try the Sparkler cocktail with Cocchi Americano, Dolin blanc, bubbles and grapefruit zest, the Apricot Old Fashioned made from apricot-infused bourbon, orange and Angostura bitters and turbinado sugar or the extra refreshing Frosé that blends rosé, peach vodka, strawberry and lime in a frozen wine cocktail. Beer options represent Spoetzl, Eureka Heights and Texas Leaguer. Share a spread of nibbles like Smoked Chicken Nachos, the “G.F.D.” fried onions, Salmon Crudo or a Pimento Cheese Plate.
