South Texas Breakfast Cooking Class at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen
November 7 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm$65
Every new day should start with a good breakfast, and for that, Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchens’ owner Sylvia Casares will teach you how to make it.
From 1-4 p.m. Saturday, November 7, Sylvia will be teaching a class on making all the great things that go into a South Texas Breakfast. Those attending will learn how to make chilaquiles, migas, refried beans, guisado beans, flour tortillas, gorditas and corn tortillas. This is hands on tortilla boot camp!
The cost for the hands-on class is $65 per person which includes all materials, the class and a meal. To register, go online at www.sylviasenchiladas.com, or call 832-230-3842. The class will be held at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen at 1140 Eldridge Parkway.
Take note, however, due to safety measures in place because of the pandemic, seating is very limited. Masks are required on entering, leaving or moving about the restaurant, and social distancing will be in place.
Recipes for all these dishes are also found in her “The Enchilada Queen Cookbook,” by St. Martin’s Griffin, which is available for sale at both restaurants or online.
The next class will be Saturday, November 21, when the seasonal series of tamale-making classes begins.
Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen has two locations: 6401 Woodway Dr., 713-334-7295; 1140 Eldridge Pkwy, 832-230-3842. www.sylviasenchiladas.com.
