French Country Wines’ Virtual Grenache Tasting

January 16, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

French country wine shelves

Grenache has a large and versatile range, producing anything from dry to dessert wines, whites to reds, and covering price points low enough to make it a daily staple (Tramonate Grenache Noir- $16) up to bottles worth several hundreds of dollars. Grenache vines occupy more acreage than other varietal — including up to 12,000 acres in China. The vines can be harvested young, only a few years old, or several decades later (Domaine Rouge Bleu’s Lunatique comes from vines over 105 years old!)

Fun Fact: In the 17th century, it was legal to blend wines from a different region, and Burgundians were often guilty of adding a little Grenache to improve the flavor and body of their red Pinot Noir wines.

This Saturday, join French Country Wines in a virtual tasting to discover several different variations of Grenache, including a couple of white and a rosé blend, as well as three very different 100% reds. Tasting kits include 1.2oz of 6 different wines; enough for two people. Get a complimentary tasting kit with a minimum purchase of $20 (limit 1 per customer-additional tasting kits may be purchased) or purchase a kit for $12. When ordering online, make sure to pick appropriate “Tasting Kit” based on your purchase.

Tasting kits must be reserved by 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 16 and can be picked up between noon and 5 p.m. the day of the tasting. The live Zoom event starts at 6 p.m.

There will be NO refund on tasting kits not picked up. All participants will get a link and coupon code for a 10% discount on tasted wines.
