Etoile’s Fundraiser For April 2019 Benefits Rescued Pets Movement
April 1 @ 11:00 am - April 30 @ 10:30 pm$34 – $65
Every month since it opened its doors more than six years ago, Etoile Cuisine et Bar in Uptown Park has been noticeably serving Houston’s many lovers of good French food. More quietly, however, the restaurant has also been serving many of city’s charitable causes by raising money each month.
As part of a monthly commitment to raising money for local charities, Chef-owner Philippe Verpiand creates two special prix fixe menus for dinner and weekend brunch. Sales from each go to a designated group that typically involve children and animals. For April 2019, funds will benefit Rescued Pets Movement, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of saving thousands of Houston’s homeless animals through rescue, rehabilitation, and transport to other communities throughout the nation that have a demand for adoptable pets. Since RPM’s formation in September 2013, it has saved over 35,000 dogs and cats. For more information, go to www.rescuedpetsmovement.org.
At Etoile, the special will be their monthly prix-fixe dinner menu, which includes four courses, with a choice for each course. The cost for this dinner is $65 per person plus tax and gratuity, from which $7 will go to the Rescued Pets Movement. Dishes include Maine lobster salad with avocado purée and tarragon cocktail sauce, roasted duck breast with celery root mousseline, beech mushrooms and spiced gastrique, and fresh raspberry pistachio napoleon with raspberry sorbet.
Similarly, there is a special brunch menu on Saturday and Sundays. This three-course meal sells for $34 per person plus tax and gratuity and provides $4 to the program for each one sold. The menu is still in development.
