Former Alamo Drafthouse Theater in Katy Will Reopen as Flix Brewhouse

As we reported first this past weekend, the final day of business for Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch in Katy was Saturday, February 7. It wasn’t the only location that was shuttered, as franchisee Triple Tap Ventures also closed three other locations: two in El Paso and one in Lubbock. A press release has now revealed that Triple Tap Ventures has entered into a new partnership, and all four theaters — including the one in Katy — will reopen as Flix Brewhouse locations on February 23 in time to show “Scream 7”. Presale tickets will be available to buy online starting on February 13.
Flix Brewhouse calls itself “the world’s only first-run cinema brewery,” and adding the four theaters expands the chain from 11 to 15 locations with a combined 129 screens across six states. The company is based in Round Rock, while Triple Tap Ventures is based in Houston.

Like Alamo Drafthouse, Flix Brewhouse offers in-theater dine-in service, which dishes delivered to diners at their seats. The menu includes burgers, pizza, salads, wraps, three types of mac & cheese, and breakfast dishes such as chicken & waffle and breakfast tacos, just to name a few. The company is also an award-winning brewery, landing 12 medals in 2024 and 16 in 2025 at the U.S. Open Beer Championship.
