Grab a Slice of Weekday Serenity — and a Great Lunch Deal — at Rainbow Lodge

Weekdays at Rainbow Lodge at 2011 Ella are prime opportunities to indulge in memorable meals crafted by executive chef Mark Schmidt. His creativity and attention to detail ensure a refreshing midday lunchtime experience that recharges diners for returning to the day’s obligations. Dishes with both classic touches and interesting seasonings combine quality meats with locally-sourced produce. Just a few examples include the Fried Texas Quail Bites on White Cheddar Grits and the new Lobster Diablo Risotto spiced up with Calabrian peppers.

A popular starter for the cool-weather season is The Lodge’s Smoked Duck Gumbo spiked with Andouille sausage and wild rice pilaf. It is a timeless cornerstone of our menu. Get your fresh veggies in the best way with the Young Greens and Gorgonzola salad punched up with balsamic vinaigrette, black pepper granola and tart cherries. Afterward, dive into the lunch-sized version of our Mixed Grill with game sausage, Texas quail, chili rubbed venison and vegetables.

In keeping with tasteful convenience, our Business Lunch Special is going to be the envy of your colleagues. (Better still, if you like them, bring them with you.). It includes three courses in lunch-appropriate portions of soup or salad, grilled pork tenderloin or daily fish and a petite sweet and costs $15. In addition, visit on Fridays for our award-winning wild game burger that comes with smoked Creole mustard and housemade chips for $13. The burger meat and toppings change weekly and it is available while supplies last.

On the more casual side, Rainbow Lodge’s sandwich menu includes, Lobster Rolls, a hearty Braised Short Rib and Cheddar Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Wild Boar Carnitas Flour Tacos.  We pride ourselves on catering to the dietary needs of our guests and accommodate requests for gluten-free and other restrictions whenever possible.

For a beautiful view alongside your meal, reserve a table by one of our many oversized windows and enjoy our park-like backyard replete with trees and a meandering brook. While visiting, be sure and stop by the Tied-Fly Bar to see our amazing, hand-carved bar! In 1993, owner Donnette Hansen commissioned it from Vermont artist Bill Herrick. It spans 20 feet and Herrick carved it in amazing detail from a single basswood tree! It was designed to reflect Hansen’s passion for fly-fishing and the great outdoors.

At lunch or happy hour, enjoy our excellent wines and specialty cocktails, selected by beverage director Marc Borel. Rainbow Lodge was recently cited by Texas Monthly as having one of the best wine lists in the state!
