For those who enjoy dining out on Christmas Day, Houston has options. From hotel restaurants to neighborhood favorites, several spots are offering special holiday menus in addition to the standard fare. The result is a wide range of dishes for diners, although traditional prime rib features prominently on menus. For those looking for festive ways to celebrate — without the cooking and clean up — check out our picks below.

Downtown

Lucienne, 1070 Dallas: This restaurant at Hotel Alessandra is serving a three-course Christmas Day brunch, featuring items such as salmon gravlax with caviar, King Crab Benedict Eggs and Crepes Suzette. The cost is $65 per person. Brunch hours are 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Reserve online or call (844) 204-5851.

Quattro, 1300 Lamar: The extensive brunch at the Four Seasons Houston hotel restaurant includes a huge raw bar, omelet station and carving station. In addition, look for selections from Quattro’s menu, including Caprese salad, mushroom ravioli, butternut squash risotto, lentils and chickpea salad, and a dizzying number of desserts. The cost is $110 for adults, who also get complimentary Bloody Marys or mimosas) and $49 for children ages 6 to 12. To reserve, call (713) 276-4700.

The Rustic, 1836 Polk: The enormous Southern comfort food and craft beer spot is opening at 5 p.m., for its “Drink the Tree” event. Guests can choose a Real Ale Fireman’s #4 from The Rustic’s beer bottle Christmas tree for just $3. Food items include Double Queso and tamales. Live music starts at 7 p.m. with The Powell Brothers taking the stage.

Galleria

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, 5061 Westheimer: The Galleria outpost of the national chain features prime rib on its holiday menu. The cost for 16 ounces is $45 and 20 ounces is $55. Dry-aged steak and a Wagyu tasting are also on the limited menu of signature favorites. Del Frisco’s is open from 3 to 8 p.m. on Christmas Day. For reservations, call (713) 355-2600.

Radio Milano, 800 Sorella Court: The huge Christmas Day brunch buffet includes a pasta bar, waffles, omelets, carving station, soups, salads, green bean casserole, fresh fruit and a selection of desserts. The cost is $45 per person and reservations can be made by calling (713) 827-3545.

Montrose

Katz’s Deli, 616 Westheimer: Everyone in Houston has heard their catchphrase — “Katz’s never kloses.” That’s true even on Christmas. The 24-hour spot serves up its regular menu of massive sandwiches and comfort food favorites.

River Oaks

Shanghai River, 2407 Westheimer: The classic Chinese restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Day and serving its regular menu of Chinese-American favorites. The lunch specials, which include a choice of soup and appetizer are a great holiday value.

Southwest Houston

Regal Seafood House and Lounge, 12350 Southwest Freeway: Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas Day, the Cantonese favorite serves its regular a la carte menu. Opt for Peking duck, lobster with egg yolks or dim sum, among many other selections on the huge, picture-laden menu.

Upper Kirby

Kiran’s, 2925 Richmond: The Houston favorite adds an Indian flair to traditional Christmas dining with a four-course menu that includes selections such as a paneer cutlet on avocado toast, Chicken Tikka Tamales, lobster bisque, lamb shank served with Jeera Aloo Methi Gratin, Rohan duck confit with a cranberry and plum wine reduction, and chocolate hazelnut brownie. The cost is $75 for adults and $35 for children under 12. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Day and reservations can be made by calling (713) 960-8472.

Uptown

Hotel Granduca, 1080 Uptown Park: Seasonal flavors abound on the hotel’s Christmas Day brunch buffet, showcasing traditional favorites such as turkey with all the trimmings, prime beef, ham, seafood selections, an array of salads, cheeses, pasta, desserts and more. The cost is $85 for adults and $40 for children ages 5 to 12. For reservations, call (713) 418-1104. 

The Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa, 111 North Post Oak: The prestigious hotel is offering three options for Christmas Day dining. In the Grande Ballroom, an extensive buffet brunch is available from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., featuring selections such as roasted turkey, rack of lamb, wild-caught salmon, South of the Border Eggs Benedict and a host of other options. The cost is $79 for adults and $39 for kids. Reserve online or call (713)680-2626. TRIBUTE at The Houstonian is offering a seated a la carte brunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with menu items such as Kings Inn Salad, Medina County Parisa, Diamond H Ranch Bacon Wrapped Bandera Quail and more. To make a reservation, call (713) 685-6713. The Manor House has its own special brunch, with selections such as Oysters BienvilleCreole Courtboullion, smoked prime rib, pecan pie and sticky toffee pudding. The cost is $65 for adults ($58 for members) and $25 for children ages 5  to 12. The brunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call (713) 685-6840 or make reservations online.

Multiple Locations

Alicia’s Mexican Grille: Upscale, shareable, traditional Mexican favorites abound at this family-owned restaurant. All locations are open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Day and diners can select from items such as Alicia’s Molcajete for Two, featuring grilled panela cheese, shrimp, chicken and beef fajitas, and avocados served inside a hot molcajete with roasted tomatillo sauce, artichoke hearts, field mushrooms, poblano peppers and scallions. Or, try the Camarones Alicia’s, six extra jumbo shrimp stuffed with Monterey jack cheese and poblano peppers, wrapped with bacon, sautéed to perfection, and served over a bed of spinach with a poblano jalapeño white wine lemon butter sauce.

Fogo de Chão: The popular Brazilian churrasco restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas Day, serving its famous steaks, chickens and seafood from spits by waiters in traditional gaucho garb. Dinner pricing, which is $53.95 for adults for the full churrasco experience (and half-price for kids ages six to 12), is in effect all day.

Grotto, 4715 Westheimer and 9595 Six Pines: The approachable Italian restaurant is serving its regular menu for the holiday, letting diners chose from a selection of pasta, poultry, veal and vegetable dishes. Christmas hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Reservations can be made online.

Luby’s has two special items available on its Christmas Day menu. Prime rib is $15.99 and blackened chicken breast with bacon-wrapped shrimp is $13.99. Both come with two side dishes and bread.
