Visit Rainbow Lodge For Lunch, Brunch & Dinner During Houston Restaurant Weeks

When it comes to supporting the Houston Food Bank through Houston Restaurant Weeks (HRW), Rainbow Lodge is “all in!” Three different menus are being offered for lunch, brunch and dinner with different dish choices for every course. Each also features examples of Rainbow Lodge’s “greatest hits” like Executive Chef Mark Schmidt’s legendary Smoked Duck Gumbo with andouille sausage and wild rice pilaf; Fried Texas Quail Bites with creamy cheddar organic grits and topped with bourbon-bacon gravy; and Warm Croissant Bread Pudding with whiskey sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Some of Schmidt’s latest creations perfect for August weather are also on the HRW menus. Check out the freshly caught Gulf Snapper with Carolina Gold rice, heirloom field pea hoppin’ john and sugar snap peas or the gluten-free Lemon Icebox Pie with a graham cracker crust, blueberry port compote and cardamom honey. Both dishes are utterly perfect for summer.
For Houston Restaurant Weeks, the Sunday brunch menu has the wild game twists on classic dishes that diners have come to expect over the past 40 years. The entrées include the hearty Field Breakfast: two fried eggs with ranchero sauce, venison and pistachio sausage patty, rösti potatoes with cheddar, Texas toast and charred jalapeño. Or, opt for the Braised Buffalo Short Rib “Benedict” with poached eggs, arugula, brioche toast and jalapeño hollandaise. Sunday brunch runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is a Houston favorite. (The $2 mimosas might have something to do with that, too.) View the full weekly brunch menu on our website.
Season to season, diners enjoy Rainbow Lodge features, including patios and decks overlooking an acre of meticulously landscaped grounds, the comfortable hunting lodge atmosphere and a top-notch happy hour.
