Annual charitable event Taste of the Nation returns on May 22 and Houston chefs are lending their time and considerable culinary skill to make sure it’s a night to remember. Proceeds go to No Kid Hungry, a national organization dedicated to providing meals for children in need. Hosted this year at Silver Street Studios, the event features the innovative cuisine and creative drinks from more than 40 of Houston’s hottest restaurants.

VIP tickets for Taste of the Nation are $200 and include early admission, which starts at 6 p.m. General admission tickets are $125, with a 6:30 p.m. entry time. The event ends at 9 p.m.

“This is a chance for people to get to know the faces behind the food,” said Ryan Pera of Coltivare, Eight Row Flint and Revival Market. He’s one of three co-chairs, along with Julep’s Alba Huerta and Fluff Bake Bar’s Rebecca Masson. “Guests will get to chat with them face to face. It’s going to be a fun time.”

The restaurant list reads like a who’s who of Houston’s best. Pera said it’s a great way for guests to experience their favorites or get an idea of what chefs are doing at eateries they haven’t been to yet.

At publication time, the list of participating restaurants is:

  • BCN Taste & Tradition
  • Beaver’s
  • Bernie’s Burger Bus
  • Brasserie 19
