Love it or hate it, summertime is upon us in Houston. It’s time to make the most of the warm weather and that means indulging in cool salads, chilled wines and light desserts at Rainbow Lodge. It features what is frequently cited as one of Houston’s best patios, which overlooks an acre of meticulously landscaped grounds. (That’s one reason why Rainbow Lodge is a top pick in Houston for weddings, private parties and other celebrations.)

As always, Executive Chef Mark Schmidt had adapted his dishes to make the most of the season and the Sunday Brunch menu is no exception. It runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come for the $2 mimosas; stay for Fried Chicken Salad with white cheddar, bacon, a hard boiled egg and lemon-caper dressing or a classic Lobster Roll built on a toasted bun with housemade potato chips. The jumbo lump crab cake with crispy bacon, green onion, Creole mustard butter and garden leaves is a perpetual customer favorite, too. View the full weekly brunch menu on our website.

Sunday nights feature one of our best deals: the $15 Sunday Supper with half-priced wines by the glass. It’s a full, comfort-food meal with side dishes that changes almost every week. However, our Chicken Fried Steak with Black Pepper Gravy has been so popular we’re now offering it on the first Sunday of every month! It’s a crispy-fried beauty with mashed potatoes and a side veggie.

Summertime is also cocktail time. On Tuesdays through Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m., join us for classic martinis at only $5 each! Choose from gin or vodka, or aim for other beloved twists that have stood the test of time like the Cosmopolitan, Vesper, Martinez or Gimlet. Wine aficionados will appreciate beverage director Marc Borel’s excellent by-the-glass selections from France, Spain, Italy and California.

Of course, there are terrific bar bites, too. Try the Two-Bite Texas Quail on Cheddar Grits for only $6 or a cup of our famous Smoked Duck Gumbo for a mere $4.

We look forward to seeing you at The Lodge! We’re open all day Tuesdays through Sundays (closed Mondays but still available for private parties) and serve lunch as well as dinner. (Be sure and check out our three-course business lunch; we’ll get you well fed and back to work quickly.)

Our hours are 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 5:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays. Sunday brunch is from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. then Sunday Supper starts at 4:30 p.m.

See you at The Lodge!
