Brandi Key Is Now Culinary Director For Max’s Wine Dive, The Tasting Room & More

Brandi Key

Lasco Enterprises, the parent company of The Tasting Room, Max’s Wine Dive and Boiler House Texas Grill & Wine Garden at the Pearl Brewery in San Antonio, announced in a press release that Brandi Key is now its culinary director for all locations. All told, Lasco Enterprises has restaurants in Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Denver.

Key made a stir after parting ways with Clark Cooper Concepts in January after eight years. With that company, Key helped open The Dunlavy, Coppa Osteria, Punk’s Simple Southern Food, the now-closed Salt Air and more. Before that, Key spent a decade with the Pappas Restaurants group, working her way from line cook to Research & Development Chef. That was followed by a stint in San Francisco with Tante Marie’s Cooking School and then in Napa with chef Cindy Pawlcyn.

“This is a change that will elevate our restaurants and provide a refresh,” said Lasco Enterprises’ owner Jerry Lasco via press release. “Brandi understands Houston is a culinary epicenter and brings years of experience managing multiple concepts at once; that will translate well for us.”

Lasco is also opening SING restaurant with chef Cuc Lam, expected to open this summer. That project is not part of Lasco Enterprises.

We’ve requested comments from Key about her plans for the menus at the various restaurants and will update this article when we hear from her.
