Game Day For The Win: Super Bowl Dining Deals In Houston

It’s that time of year again for football fans. While few things can beat the excitement of actually hosting the Super Bowl like Houston did last year, this Sunday there is no shortage of places to catch the game around town. Here’s a rundown of some special Super Bowl LII offerings to take advantage of while watching the big game (aka watch The Patriots lose).

The Barking Pig, 2307 Ella: A dog-friendly neighborhood spot in the Heights, The Barking Pig is serving 50-cent wings and squares all day long with a special game day beer list for only $2.50 each.

Beaver's queso

Beavers, 6025 Westheimer: Celebrate a “Dam Good Super Bowl” Beavers-style with game day queso, $5 craft cocktails all day, $15 Karbach Brewing Co. beers all day and $30 mimosa bottle service.

Edison & Patton, 4203 Edison: The folks over at Edison & Patton are serving a special menu this Sunday with game-time favorites like wings, Philadelphia-inspired cheesesteaks and nachos. To quench your thirst during game time, there are also happy hour drink specials.

Eight Row Flint, 1039 Yale: This Sunday, Eight Row Flint is hosting their 2nd Annual Industry Potluck, starting at 4 p.m. and open to the public. Cooks from the entire Agricole Hospitality family will bring dishes to share, so feel free to come with a dish of your own. In addition to the potluck, Eight Row Flint is also running the following specials all day: $3 tacos, $3 beers and $5 dollar Old Fashioneds, Margaritas and the Eight Row Mule.

El Big Bad, 419 Travis: Never turning down a chance to host an event, the team at El Big Bad plans to roll out their get it one day only Cupcake Taco in honor of the game. (It’s savory, not sweet. As shown above, the shell is cup-shaped to hold the fillings.) There are margarita and other drink specials as well.

FM Kitchen and Bar, 1112 Shepherd: Our second dog-friendly spot on the list, FM Kitchen and Bar has come up with two sets of themed dishes in honor of this year’s Super Bowl teams. Patriots fan cans fill up on “Patriot Plates” featuring Corn Chowder Dip, Lobster & Pringles and fluffernutter shakes. For Eagles fans, “Eagles Plates” include the Texas Tommy (a cheddar-stuffed, bacon wrapped hot dog with “shhh sauce”), Cheesesteak Tots and Eagle Wings.

Good Dog Houston, 903 Studewood and 1312 West Alabama: Who says hot dogs are just for baseball? Both Good Dog Houston locations are serving up Super Bowl specials. Until 5 p.m. on Sunday, you can get 50-cent wings and the creative team behind the counter is working on new combo packages for game day.

If all else fails and none of the items on this list can entice you to join them for the big game, take a cue from Houston Food Finder’s own Josh Armendariz and get yourself to Saint Arnold Brewing Company  for “Super Beef Sunday.” Grab some barbecue from three great vendors—Feges BBQ,  Louie Mueller BBQ, and Victorian’s Barbecue—then find a seat on your own couch to watch the big game.
