Surprise! Owner Alli Jarrett of Harold’s Restaurant & Tap Room at 350 West 19th in the Heights revealed today that the company has been quietly working on a sleek black and red mobile kitchen with silver trim. It officially debuts on Saturday, October 14 at “Jorstoberfest,” Eureka Heights Brew Co’s denim-themed Octoberfest celebration. It starts at noon and the brewery is located at 941 West 18th.

In the spirit of the season, the Harold’s trailer will serve a German-themed menu at tomorrow’s event. Look for traditional fare, like bratwurst and big soft pretzels.

The regular dishes, though, are what restaurant is known for: southern and Creole fare. Chef Antoine Ware’s mobile menu includes a pimento cheese-stuffed burger with bread-and-butter pickles and hand-cut fries; three different po-boys: soft shell crab, beef “debris” and shrimp; a chopped salad and Harold’s signature chicken and sausage gumbo with potato salad.

There are other side dishes, too. In addition to potato salad and regular fries, there’s pimento cheese-topped fries and crispy-fried cauliflower. “This menu is our everyday mobile menu,” says Jarrett. “We can customize the menu like we do at the restaurant for catering and special events.”

She says the trailer is the product of two local and independent Houston businesses. I-45 Signs produced the graphics while Custom Made Trailers built the rolling kitchen.

As far as where else to find the Harold’s trailer in the future, Jarrett says they are still figuring out locations and schedule. She says that information will be posted on Harold’s Facebook page and other social media feeds, “as we get permission to be a part of businesses, food parks, breweries and the like.”
