Killen’s STQ at 2231 South Voss will soon be available for some meat-centric power lunches—but only three days a week. Starting on October 5, chef Ronnie Killen’s only restaurant within Houston city limits (for now) will open for lunch Thursdays through Saturdays. The hours are from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Killen’s STQ then closes for a bit before it reopens for dinner at 4 p.m.

The eatery is promising a “well-appointed-yet-rustic” lunch menu of light entrées and sides, as well as the hefty dishes for which it is already known. That includes items already on the dinner menu such as the chicken-fried wagyu ribeye and pecan-smoked pork belly. Diners looking for a dish on the lighter side should try the roasted corn ravioli. (We’ve had it and it’s amazing.)

There are new dishes for lunch, too, and these have the same smoke-kissed touches as the dinner selections. These include Fried Smoked Pork Ribs with Carolina Mustard, Smoked Jerk Chicken Wings, Smoked Lobster Bisque, and Spicy Tuna Niçoise salad.

Chef de cuisine Teddy Lopez, director of operations Graham Laborde (formerly the chef of now-closed Bernadine’s) and Killen are also coordinating on a regularly changing selection of seasonal main courses and side dishes.

Just as at dinner time, there’s a valet on-duty. Parking is complimentary (gratuity only).
