Celebrate National Rosé Day with These Special Deals Around Houston

You don’t need a special day to celebrate wine that seems tailor-made for Houston’s hot weather. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take advantage of the great rosé specials on offer for National Rosé Day this Saturday, June 10.

Kick off summer and taste through several styles at great price points at these Houston restaurants and bars:

Bistro Provence, 13616 Memorial Drive

This Memorial-area restaurant celebrates the famous region of Provence, so of course plenty of French rosé is on-hand. From June 10 to June 16, owner Genevieve Guy is bringing out selections of French rosé wines and marking down bottles by half. Expect to find a wide range of styles, from big and dry, to delicate and light. Of course, the well-versed dining staff can help find the perfect fit for the daily specials. Bon appétit!

Brasil, 2604 Dunlavy

The Montrose mainstay with a spacious back patio is offering up bottle selections at a discounted price all day on Saturday, June 10. Brunch crowds looking for libations with a rosy hue will find no less than 10 bottles from all over the world—California, France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain—for $25. The bottles will be available until they sell out, in addition to a special rosé sangria, made with Monastrell Rosado, orange, lemon, lime, house berry marmalade, and lavender simple syrup.

This wine bar in Tomball, known for its extensive Texas and by-the-glass wine selections, is offering a tasting featuring five different pink sippers from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday for $10. The mix of still and sparkling wines come from California, Texas and Italy, representing a range of styles, grapes and terroir. No reservation required.

French Country Wines, 2433 Bartlett Street

They say the best things in life are free, and on Saturday, it’s true for rosé lovers at French Country Wines. This Rice Village area wine store will have six rosés from family-owned and operated vineyards throughout France for their complimentary weekly tasting from 12 to 6 P.M. Cheese from Houston Dairymaids will accompany a variety of bottles representing some of the best French pink wines.

Big, hearty reds aren’t the only match for a great steak, and Killen’s proves it this week by offering a selection of its rosés for $6 a glass from Monday, June 5, through Saturday, June 10. Co-owner and beverage director Deanna Killen has stacked the rosé list with special picks, including several vintages of Antica Terra’s Angelicall, available by the glass for a steal. “These are not frivolous wines,” says Killen. “They come savory, as well as light and fruity.”

Houston’s iconic log cabin restaurant will celebrate the pinkest day of the year on Saturday with several options for guests. Six rosés will be marked at under $40 per bottle, including a rare rosé from Piedmont and a rosé of Cabernet from deep in the heart of Mexico. Starting at 6:00 p.m., guests at the Tied Fly Bar or patio can enjoy a complimentary glass of Domaine Souviou Rosé from the Bandol region in Provence, France. Poured from an enormous three-liter bottle, the offer is available with the purchase of a bowl of Smoked Duck and Andouille Sausage Gumbo or Chicken Fried Quail Bites. The limit is two glasses per person, and it will only be available this Saturday while supplies last.

And of course, if you’re feeling very festive, you can always order the Lodge’s Frosé: a frozen blend of rosé wine, Fino Sherry, strawberry and citrus.
