Meals and Deals For Veterans In Houston Today

Many restaurants and other establishments in Houston are offering some well-deserved values and freebies for our veterans today. We’ve organized these by neighborhood (unless there are multiple locations) to help find a deal in your area. Thank you for your service to our country.

Downtown/EaDo

Ninfa’s On Navigation, 2704 Navigation
One of Houston’s favorite Tex-Mex spots is offering a 50-percent discount to all active duty military and veterans on Veterans Day. Must show military ID or be in uniform.

St. John’s Fire Food Truck, 1308 Travis
Today is Food Truck Friday at the First Methodist Houston church. Present your military ID for a free Crawfish Mac & Cheese Ball with a lunch purchase.
Museum District

Hermann Park Railroad, 6102 Hermann Park
Veterans ride the Hermann Park Railroad for free today. As long as the weather stays nice, the train runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Present proof of military service at the Kinder Train Station podium for the complimentary ride. Also, Pinewood Café is giving veterans a 10-percent discount on their purchases there.

 

Katy

Alamo Drafthouse Theatre, 531 Mason
Treat a veteran to a free movie today. Just present a military ID or other proof of service at the box office. Note: The Alamo Drafthouse in Vintage Park is offering the same deal. See below. 

 

Northwest Houston/Tomball/Willowbrook

Alamo Drafthouse Theatre, 114 Vintage Park
Treat a veteran to a free movie today. Just present a military ID or other proof of service at the box office. Note: We just learned that the Katy location on Mason Road is offering the same deal! See above. 

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, 7637 FM 1960 West
Veterans can present a valid military ID for a to get any entrée that’s $12.95 or less for free.

 

River Oaks

Hopdoddy Burger Bar, 4444 Westheimer
In one of the most generous offers, all Hopdoddy locations are giving 50-percent off to all parties joined by a veteran, active or inactive member of the armed forces. The discount includes both food and alcohol and covers the entire party. The Houston location is in the River Oaks District center and there’s free parking in the garage behind the nearby iPic Theatre.

The Woodlands/Spring

Present your military ID at the Black Garlic food truck for a burger. (We vouch for their tastiness, but watch out for that Scorpion Sauce. They’re not kidding around with that stuff.) Limit one per person.

 

Various Locations

Antone’s Famous Po’ Boys
Get 50-percent off at Antone’s at 4520 San Felipe and 2724 West TC Jester. Must show military ID or be in uniform.

Applebee’s
Current and former military with a valid ID get a free meal today. The choices include Butcher’s Meat and Potatoes, Oriental Chicken Salad, Fiesta Lime Chicken, Chicken Tenders Platter, Double Crunch Shrimp, Three-Cheese Chicken Penne or the American Standard All-In Burger. Veterans will also get a $5 coupon that can be redeemed between November 12 and November 27, 2016.

Beck’s Prime
Present a military ID for a free burger today.

Buffalo Wild Wings
Veterans with valid ID get a free small order of 10 to 12 traditional or boneless wings and a side of fries.

California Pizza Kitchen
Get a free entrée from any of the Houston area locations of California Pizza Kitchen today. (There are three: Post Oak, River Oaks and Memorial City). The Veteran’s Day menu choices includes pizza, salads and pasta.

Chipotle
From 3 p.m. to close, veterans can get buy-one-get-one free burritos, burrito bowls, salads or taco entrees at all Chipotle locations. Present a valid military ID for the offer. Offer valid for all U.S. military (active-duty, reserves, national guard and retired military), military spouses with ID, and veterans.

McDonald’s
In a fast food mood? Get a free sandwich by simply visiting any McDonald’s in the Greater Houston Area and telling the counterstaff, “I served in the U.S. military.” The offer can be redeemed for any sandwich on the menu including McDonald’s favorites like the Big Mac, Egg McMuffin and Filet-o-Fish.

Peli Peli/Peli Peli Kitchen
The two opulent Peli Peli restaurants (Vintage Park and Galleria) and the newly opened Peli Peli Kitchen at 9090 Katy Freeway are all offering free lunch or dinner entrées for veterans today. Just show your ID to the server.

Plucker’s Wing Bar
Pluckers Wing Bar will be offering free meals for all veterans today. The deal includes a complimentary entree, side, and a non-alcoholic beverage. Some side dish selections include waffle fries, macaroni and cheese, and homemade potato chips. There’s more than wings, here, too. The offer is also valid on salads and burgers, such as Bypass Burger topped with bacon, cheddar, grilled onions, and jalapeños. There are two Houston locations: 1400 Shepherd and 10407 Katy Freeway near Beltway 8.

Twin Peaks
There’s a special menu of free entrees for veterans today. Choose either the beer-battered chicken tenders, Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken Ranch Sandwich, Cheeseburger or a Buffalo Chicken Salad. Present a military ID to take advantage of the offer. Twin Peaks has three locations in Houston: 59 at Kirby (4527 Lomitas), I-10 at Kirkwood (11335 Katy Freeway) and 290 near Bingle (12830 Northwest Freeway).
